Susanna Nubery was born in 1607.1 As of 21 September 1630,her married name was Evelith.1 She married Silvester Evelith at St. David, Exeter, England, on 21 September 1630.1 Susanna Nubery was church member on 19 January 1643 at First Church, Boston, Suffolk, MA, USA.1 She was church member on 12 March 1644 at Gloucester, Essex, MA, USA. From the Publications of the Colonial Society of Massachusetts, "The 12th day of the 3rd month 1644 Our sister Susan Evylith had with the Consent of the Church at Glocester". It is interesting to note that Silvester either declined or was not permitted to join the church at this time. Indeed, in the files of the Essex Quarterly Court for 11 September 1649, there is a citation ordering "Silvester Evely of Gloster for defaming the church there to publicly confess". However, this need not imply that he was a religious radical or disenter, as some have stated, for he presumably joined the church before becoming a freeman in 1652, and was certainly a memb er by 1658.1 She died on 14 September 1659 at Gloucester, Essex, MA, USA.1,2

Sir William Herrick was. Goldsmith
FROM "FAMOUS LONDON MERCHANTS" by HR Fox Bourne [New York; Harper & Brothers, 1869]
The trade of a goldsmith was then one of the most lucrative and honorable that an Englishman could follow. It meant much more than dealing in jewelry and trinkets. The Old Goldsmith's Guild had the exclusive power of coining money.
"Among the goldmsiths of this sort, in the time of Queen Elizabeth, William Herrick came to be the most eminent. The Queen herself was one of his best customers. Employing Gresham, Ducket, and others, to conduct her foreign monetary nusiness, she went to Herrick for the small loans and minor bargains to which, her exchequer being oftern nearly empty, she very often had to resort. Could we discover the ledgers which old John Herrick bade his son keep carefully, we should see a wonderful array of loans, not only to Elizabeth, but also to nearly every one of her famous courtiers, the great Earl of Leicester, and his noble nephew, Sir Philip Sidney, the great Earl of Essex, and his worthier rival Sir Walter Raleigh, and half a hundred other men of excellent wit and excellent grace; men whose courtly bearing, noble thought, and noble action, make the age of Queen Elizabeth the most illustrious in our history"
In 1603, Queen Elizabeth died, and James VI of Scotland became King of England as James I. The new king in consideration of his long and faithful service to his late mistress, continued to employ Herrick in the same sort of service, and dignified it by conferring upon him the title of Principal Jeweller or Teller to the Crown.1 William was born in 1557.2 He was the son of John Eyrick or Heyrick and Marie "Mary" Bond. He was baptized on 9 December 1562.
Martha Appleton was born in 1619 at Ipswich, Essex, MA, USA; Herrick Genealogy states 11 May 1686 , but I don't believe this can be correct.2,3 She was the daughter of Samuel Appleton and Judith Everard.1 She married Sgt Richard Jacob at Ipswich, Essex, MA, USA, in 1636.3,2,4,5,6,1 Her married name was Jacob.3,2 Martha Appleton died on 8 September 1659 at Ipswich, Essex, MA, USA. Herrick Genealogy has date as 06 Dec 1769. This can not be correct because she would havebeen 140 years old.2,3,7,4,6
