Glendon G. Hale Sr., of Lyndonville, passed away peacefully at Fletcher Allen Health care in Burlington Tuesday evening, May 3, 2005, at the age of 66.
Glen was born in Wolcott, Vt., on Aug. 30, 1938. He was the son of Walter and Louva (Houghton) Hale. He married Nancy Cahoon McReynolds on Oct. 19, 1974.
Glen was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1779, and both the American Legion Post 58 in St. Johnsbury and Post 30 in Lyndonville. He owned Glen's Auto Sales on Route 5 in Lyndon and had previously worked for various construction companies. He enjoyed hunting, racing and spending time with his family.
Besides his parents, three brothers and two sisters predeceased him, Stanley, Kenneth and Donnie Hale, and Patricia Powers, all of St. Johnsbury, and Bonnie Mackay of Connecticut.
He is survived by three brothers and two sisters, Howard Hale and his wife Phyllis of Boynton Beach Fla., James Hale and wife Darlene of Danville, Walter Hale of Marlborough Conn., Cheryl Jacobs and her husband Howard of Manchester Conn., and Marilyn St. Hilaire and her husband Louis of West Burke; two sisters-in-law, Ernestine and Janet Hale of St. Johnsbury; and a brother-in-law, Kenny Powers of St. Johnsbury.
His immediate family includes his wife Nancy (178 Ingalls Lane 05851); five children and four stepchildren, Glen Hale Jr. and his wife Mary Jo of Havlock, N.C., Rick Hale and his wife Karyn of Lyndonville, Brenda Ducker and her husband Sean of Lyndonville, Gary Hale and his fiancŽ Amie Dehaven of Sheffield, Holly Blair of St. Johnsbury, Wendy Somers and her husband Scott of Danville, Tina Patrone and her husband Rory Harker of Heights, Texas, Sheila Dodge and her husband Scott of North Danville, and Earl Jay McReynolds and his fiancŽ Kendra Burroughs of Wilder, Vt; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the South Congregational Church with the Rev. Lee Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home Friday evening from 5-8 p.m.

Walter "Walt" G. Hale Sr., 74, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday (July 28, 2009). Walt was born August 2, 1934 in Wolcott, VT. He moved to Marlborough in 1967. Throughout his working years he was employed with Pratt & Whitney, Flanigan Brothers, and co-owned H&W Hale Brothers Trucking with his brother Howard. In his retirement years he worked part time at East Hampton Ace Hardware. Walt enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, NASCAR Racing, Red Sox, cards and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Walt was the son of the late Walter and Louva Hale of St. Johnsbury, VT. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Geneva (Manzo) Hale in 1994. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Glendon, Donald, Kenneth, and Stanley, and sisters, Patricia and Bonita "Bonnie". Walt is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Terrie and Greg Haggett; his two sons and their wives, Walter and Christine Hale Jr., and Alan and Teresa Hale, his grandchildren, Marisa, Cole, Anthony, Nicholas, and Lizzie all of Marlborough. Walter "Walt" G. Hale Sr., 74, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday (July 28, 2009). Walt was born August 2, 1934 in Wolcott, VT. He moved to Marlborough in 1967. Throughout his working years he was employed with Pratt & Whitney, Flanigan Brothers, and co-owned H&W Hale Brothers Trucking with his brother Howard. In his retirement years he worked part time at East Hampton Ace Hardware. Walt enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, NASCAR Racing, Red Sox, cards and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Walt was the son of the late Walter and Louva Hale of St. Johnsbury, VT. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Geneva (Manzo) Hale in 1994. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Glendon, Donald, Kenneth, and Stanley, and sisters, Patricia and Bonita "Bonnie". Walt is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Terrie and Greg Haggett; his two sons and their wives, Walter and Christine Hale Jr., and Alan and Teresa Hale, his grandchildren, Marisa, Cole, Anthony, Nicholas, and Lizzie all of Marlborough. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Phylles Hale of Boynton Beach, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Louis St. Hilaire of West Burke, VT; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Howard Jacobs of Manchester; brother and sister-in-law, James and Darlene Hale of Danville, VT; sister-in-law, Ernestine Hale of St. Johnsbury, VT; sister-in-law, Janet Hale also of St. Johnsbury, VT, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was born in St. Johnsbury, Oct. 6, 1951, the son of Walter and Louva (Houghton) Hale. Before his disability he worked at Connors Footwear in Lisbon. He was a graduate of St. Johnsbury Trade School.
