Glendon G. Hale Sr., of Lyndonville, passed away peacefully at Fletcher Allen Health care in Burlington Tuesday evening, May 3, 2005, at the age of 66.
Glen was born in Wolcott, Vt., on Aug. 30, 1938. He was the son of Walter and Louva (Houghton) Hale. He married Nancy Cahoon McReynolds on Oct. 19, 1974.
Glen was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1779, and both the American Legion Post 58 in St. Johnsbury and Post 30 in Lyndonville. He owned Glen's Auto Sales on Route 5 in Lyndon and had previously worked for various construction companies. He enjoyed hunting, racing and spending time with his family.
Besides his parents, three brothers and two sisters predeceased him, Stanley, Kenneth and Donnie Hale, and Patricia Powers, all of St. Johnsbury, and Bonnie Mackay of Connecticut.
He is survived by three brothers and two sisters, Howard Hale and his wife Phyllis of Boynton Beach Fla., James Hale and wife Darlene of Danville, Walter Hale of Marlborough Conn., Cheryl Jacobs and her husband Howard of Manchester Conn., and Marilyn St. Hilaire and her husband Louis of West Burke; two sisters-in-law, Ernestine and Janet Hale of St. Johnsbury; and a brother-in-law, Kenny Powers of St. Johnsbury.
