Mrs. Gilchrist had been ill four weeks and seemed to be recovering satisfactorily when a turn for the worse came Friday and she failed rapidly until her death.
Mrs. Gilchrist was fifty-six years of age and was born in Walden, the daughter ot Vial and Rachael Shurtleff
She is survived by her husband, O. D. Gilchrist, of this place; five daughters, Mrs. A. L. Belville of Barre, Mrs.
Mary Wagner of Plainfield, Misses Hattie and Alma Gilchrist of Montpelior and Mrs. Lois Wagner of Topsham; four sons, Carroll I., of Waitsfield, Waldo N., of Hardwick, Robert of Rochester and Charlie of Hardwick; one brother, R. Mrs. Gilchrist's life was one of faithful service. For many years her hands were more than busied with the care of her large family and since they have grown to manhood and womanhood she has still led a busy and hadrworking life performing with faithfulness what her hands found to do. She will he sadly missed by those to whom her life has been devoted.
