Mary was born at Topsfield, Essex, MA, USA, on 23 February 1724/25.2,1 She was the daughter of Joseph Dwinnell and Prudence (?) Dwinnell.1 An intention for the marriage of Mary Dwinnell and Jonathan Perley was made on 11 May 1749.1 As of 11 May 1749,her married name was Perley.1 As of 7 December 1756,her married name was Grant.1 Mary Dwinnell married John Grant on 7 December 1756.1 Mary Dwinnell died on 13 May 1758 at age 33. Tradation on Mary Grant's Death: Mrs Grant was poverty stricken and pressed with hunger: she went a-fishing on the Lord's day for food. She uses an old row-boat that was kept for fishing, one end of which was packed with sods to keep the water out, and by some ill management of the boat, she was drowned. The people, however, regarded it as a judgement of God upon her for her desecration of the day. May 13, 1758, however, was Saturday. Be it remembered, moreover, that Sunday at the period, began at sunset Saturday.1

Joseph was born at Linebrook Parish, Ipswich, Essex, MA, USA, in 1647.1 He was the son of Joseph Fowler and Martha Kimball. Joseph Fowler and Richard Kimball lived; Joseph probably resided with his grandfather. His uncle, Richard Kimball, jr, having settled in Wenham, as early as 1656, he appears to have followed him to that place, where he married, and continued to reside during his lifetime.1 Joseph Fowler was a Bricklayer.1 He married Elizabeth Hutton at Wenham, MA, USA.1 Joseph Fowler was court - on 30 July 1673; A complaint is made against Joseph and Phillip Fowler, for assault and battery, in quarrel between Thomas Blanchard and Joseph Folwer, and "Thomas Lull saith, that after the fray was over, he saw Phillip Fowler comeing with hatts in his hand, & askt his brother Joseph, which was his, & he sd, takeing one of them & saying this is myne, then Phillip bid him to be gon, he answered let me alone, I will be gone, or words to that effect, then Phillip sd to me, whatever you have heard or seen, say nothing". Joseph Fowler was fined £3 10s."for whipping Thomas Blanchard," and Phillip Fowler was fined 40s.1 He was court - in 1692 at Wenham, MA, USA; In 1692, he, with Thomas and Sarah Jacob, gave in his deposition, in regard to the bad character of one Goody Bibber, who was an accuser during the witchcraft delusion. The Hon. Charles W, Upham, in his valuable work on Salem Witchcraft, writes of him, "Joseph Fowler lived in Wenham, and was a person of respectability and influence, and had the courage, in the most fearful hour of the delusion, to give open testimony in the defense of its victims."1 He died on 10 February 1717/18 at Wenham, MA, USA. Died intestate.1 His estate was probated on 18 March 1717/18; Value of his estate £571 7s 6.1
