I left Otisfield when about 25 years old and worked at Craigies Mills (Oxford). I have been blind for more than ten years, caused by an injury to my head. I was unloading a wagon load of cotton in Mass. and was pitched head first to the ground, a distance of about 12 feet and was picked up for dead. Soon afterward I lost my eyesight and am now totally blind. I lived some time at Magalloway, 8 years at Blackstone Mass, and 2 or 3 years at Harrison. I have been here 10 years" in 1880.
